Joe calls his brother on his Birthday!

Joe is at Tricorner Know Shelter tonight. He has traveled approximately 230.2 miles to date and has 1961.8 miles to Katahdin. Thank you for the call bro.

Joe made it to Damascus, VA today. He has traveled 455.4 miles to date. He will be enjoying the weekend at the Trail Days Festival in Damascus.

Tennessee

Joe made it to Tennessee today. I believe he is staying in the Mollies Ridge Shelter. Joe's has put in a lot more miles this week. He hiked 16 miles one day and 20 in another. Mollies Ridge is at an elevation of 4,700 ft. and he has traveled approximately 185.5 miles to date. Mt. Katahdin in Maine is 2,007 miles further.

April 15th location

I think joe is getting his legs under him. He made great progress in the last two days. He crossed into North Carolina today, 10 days from his start. I believe he is spending the night in Muskrat Creek Shelter tonight. Included is a picture of the shelter and a picture that Joe sent me of a tree at the NC/GA state line. Joe gets his trail name!

Joe received his trail name recently. His trail name is Flintstone, because he likes to build fire pits at the camps. I love you bro. Keep on trucking.

April 13th Location

Joe be careful today. It is Friday the 13th and it is a unlucky day, so they say. Based on Joe's current gps cords, I believe that he is on Tray Mountain and has traveled approximately 67.10 miles to date.

Blood Mountain

Joe sent me this picture from the trail on 4/10. Blood Mountain is the high point on the AT in Ga. Enjoy.

April 11th location

Joe has really gotten carried away with his spot botton. He pushed the button 3 times today. I think he has come out of the closet with the gps tracker. I believe he is staying at the Low Gap Shelter based on gps location. Please post here or on Joe's facebook page. I know that he would appreciate it. I estimate that he has travled 51.7 miles to date.

April 9th location

I believe that Joe is at the Miller Gap campsite. He has traveled approximately 29.6 miles to date. He call Mom today and she was very happy to hear from him. Keep it up Joe.

April 8th Joe's Location

My best guess is that Joe is sleeping in the Gooch Mtn Shelter tonight based on his spot location. He has travel an estimated 23.3 miles from Amicalola Falls to Gooch Mtn.
